THE PLACE
Ambleside sits where town, woodland, water and fell all seem to meet within a few minutes of each other. It has energy, but step away from the centre and everything softens very quickly. That gentler side of Ambleside led us towards orchard fruit and warmth. Familiar notes, treated with the same idea as a simple dish: keep the fruit fresh and let the softer elements support it rather than cover it.
THE SCENT
English pear and soft fruit give the opening its sweetness, sharpened with a touch of warm spice. Jasmine and lily lift the middle before vanilla, heliotrope and musk bring everything together with the smooth, creamy finish of poached fruit rather than a heavy dessert.
