Our Story

Niki & Alex - Ambleside, Lake District

Windermelt is our small, family-run fragrance studio based in Ambleside, in the heart of the Lake District.

It began at a moment of change. After the birth of our baby boy, I was able to spend more time at home. With quieter days and a desire to create something by hand, i poured my first small batch of flower-shaped wax melts, a simple experiment that quickly became loved by friends and family.

Alex, a chef working in the Lakes, has always been inspired by seasonal fruits, herbs, spices and local ingredients. Over time, we realised that fragrance could capture the same feelings as food: moments, moods and memories rooted in a place. Many times, the idea of creating a wax melt business has been spoken about. This was simply the moment to try.

Windermelt was created to bottle the essence of the Lake District. Every scent is inspired by the fells, forests and changing seasons from warm driftwood and amber to soft florals, fresh herbs and cosy fireside notes.

We hand-pour each product in small batches, using distinctive shapes, natural elements and carefully blended fragrance oils.

At its heart, Windermelt is a warm, family brand shaped by nature, place and time. We hope our melts, mists and diffusers bring a quiet piece of the Lakes into your home.
